1996 was the year Pat first came to prominence when he became the first Briton ever to win the prestigious European Mogul Challenge. The following year he was crowned National Champion and was appointed as England Freestyle Team Captain. First New Wave skier to turn Pro In 1999 Pat joined the new wave of skiing that had emerged and had immediate success finishing 6th in the Courchevel Freeride. Since turning pro later that year he has regularly finished as the top Briton and in the top twenty of World Class fields at events across Europe. Cover Boy, Movie Star, TV Presenter... Pat's talents are not restricted solely to competition. He has worked with the biggest names in the ski photography business, gracing the cover of almost every British Ski and Snowboard magazine and appearing in several high profile advertisements in mainstream magazines. He has also starred in several skiing movies as well as working with Martin Bell, Britain's former Olympic Downhiller and current Performance Director, on a series of instructional videos. Pat's career in front of the camera has extended to television presenting and having appeared on Blue Peter as a guest, he was invited to try out for a presenter's role. Respected and Liked in the Industry Ultimately Pat Sharples is the name and the authority in the British Skiing industry when it comes to freeskiing. This is reflected in his regular appearances at the various shows and demonstrations around Great Britain. Pat's enthusiasm for skiing is clear for all to see and this is rubbing of on the new generation of skiers that is so influenced by him.
